David Greig has practiced law in the Lower Mainland since 1987. Throughout that time, he has worked as a Lawyer, Mediator, and Arbitrator with his paralegal Elaine.

David was born in Victoria BC, and educated there, in Kamloops, and Vancouver. After a short career in music, he attended the University of Victoria, obtaining a degree in English Literature in 1983, and his Law degree in 1986.

During his studies, David produced more children than research papers, but graduated in the top 10% of an admittedly smallish class. He emerged with several bursaries and awards, but immediately relocated to the Lower Mainland and began work as a litigator.

Initially, he practiced for 7 years (with Elaine as his assistant) with a local firm, doing insurance cases, family law, criminal law, and foreclosures. He then formed a partnership with others, where he worked as the managing partner for the next 17 years. In 2010, he and Elaine moved to South Coast Law Group where they continued that work. In 2020, Ocean Park Law in South Surrey was created to attend exclusively to family law and mediation matters.

David has been active in the Canadian Bar Association, and was thrice elected to Provincial Council, and for two years, was President of the Fraser Valley chapter. He has served the Law Society’s PLTC program as a guest instructor, as a lecturer at Continuing Legal Education Seminars, and has appeared on TV and radio and in print (in several newspapers).

David is also the author of several family law works, published by Self Counsel Press, including “Separation Agreement”, “The Separation Guide”, “The Prenuptial Guide: Contracts for Lovers”, and “If you Leave me, Put it in Writing”, and the “Mediation Guide.”

David obtained accreditation to work as a mediator and Arbitrator in 2016 and 2017 at York University (Toronto), and has worked in that capacity since.

David is the father of four children, and a grandfather of seven. His interests include guitar, travel, hockey, conservationism in fly-fishing, and cooking. He is good at only a few of those things.
